The crock shows glaze loss and surface glaze wear. There is early surface glaze cracking/crackling and glaze loss and/or wear as expected for an item of this age, fragility and use- this makes the surface look really interesting- I have not seen one with this much crackling of the glaze. There are no hairline cracks that we can see on the jug/crock. There are some bottom base chips and or some minor chipping around the lip on the top opening as expected. There are some old irregularities in the glaze on the exterior that occurred in the making or firing- it only adds to the charm of these older items. It displays well. It shows the signs you want to see of age and wear and patina of history. See all photos for your review and estimation of condition as they tell the best story.”
